Karma: Trey Anastasio Repairs His Karma [KarmaSutraNews]

After Phish’s last show in 2004—which was best appreciated in sign language—Anastasio released two solo albums that didn’t move enough units to pay his dealer for a month. He was also thought to be despondent at having to open for such mainstream dinosaur rock groups as Tom Petty and the Rolling Stones, neither of whom had ever heard of him. At that point it seemed as if the only way Anastasio was going to repair his karma was by shaving his head, grabbing some saffron robes and a tambourine, and heading for the nearest airport.
