Phish, Aug. 5 (first night of 3), Greek Theatre, UC Berkeley: Phans, the Phish equivalent to the Deadheads, will be talking about the band’s three-night Berkeley run for years to come (at least those who could get in — tickets for all three nights sold out in a heartbeat). Phish has no problem selling out 20,000-plus-seat amphitheaters, so part of the appeal was to see them in a comparatively intimate 8,500-capacity building. The group, led by guitar god Trey Anastasio, was in top form throughout the stand, but opening night delivered the most oomph.
